Simon has performed in excess of a 1000 gigs with numerous bands, dozens of recordings, and has taught hundreds of students in schools and privately. He has performed in the UK, Europe and America, and opened for artists including Walter Trout, Blue Oyster Cult, Robben Ford and Johnny Winter. He has recorded in studios in England, Germany and America, and appeared on numerous regional and national BBC and independent radio stations.

He joined Oli Brown and Fredy Hollis in January 2007 and they formed The Oli Brown Band, an original blues/funk trio. Whilst in Memphis in January 2008, the band were personally invited by legendary producer/studio-owner John Fry to record a session at the world famous Ardent Studios. That session was broadcast on internet radio and had over 1 million downloads in the first month. Oli Brown’s debut album, “Open Road” (featuring Simon and Fredy) was released on RUF Records in June 2008 and has gained rave reviews in magazines including Classic Rock, Mojo and Guitarist. Classic Rock touted Simon and Fredy as “the next Ginger (Baker) and Jack (Bruce)”. “Open Road” album was voted Number 2 in the top 50 Blues Albums of 2008 by readers of Blues Matters magazine.

 
As well as playing with Oli Brown, Simon is also first-call dep for a number of high-level function bands and jazz bands in the East of England. He also maintains a busy teaching practice, teaching over 40 individual lessons each week.
